The Balearics are the Mediterranean at its most familiar and most misunderstood simultaneously. The golf is neither. It is specific, considered, and in Mallorca in particular, rather good.
Most women who play golf in the Balearics are already in the Balearics for other reasons. A family summer week. A September escape. A long weekend when the spring light on the water is doing what it does. The golf is the addition that makes the week feel more deliberately spent — and in Mallorca, the addition is significant enough to justify planning the trip around it.
Mallorca has three courses worth writing about in the Inesea register: Alcanada for the coastal prestige round, Son Muntaner for the serious golf above Palma, Son Vida for the heritage hotel and the terrace lunch that follows. Ibiza has one course — the only one on an island famous for everything except golf — and it is more interesting for that singularity than it would be if there were five others to compare it to.

Mallorca
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and the one with the golf infrastructure to match. Three courses in distinctly different registers: a coastal prestige round with a lighthouse hole that has appeared in more Mallorca golf photography than any other image on the island, a private-club-feel inland course on the Son Vida estate above Palma, and a heritage resort course attached to the oldest hotel in Mallorca. The island gives you the choice of what kind of round you are playing rather than simply where. That choice is the starting point for what you wear.
